Bug#533265: It would be good to fix this while people are still upgrading

If there is no generic way found, we can not update ...  We need
solution before asking doc changes.

I think what is there is quite decent.

I remember there were some discussion while releasing this note.

Basically, I think resonable thing to do is:

1. make minimum system by removing desktop apps and unused part
2. stop server services
3. dist-upgrade as described
4. Install desktop

This should work for most systems.

(Some desktop apps tends to have funky dependencies which canfuses
resolver.  Do you really had issues without desktop systems?)

If it is super high priority server, hot migration is bad idea anyway.
