Hi, (Reply-To: debian-doc@lists.debian.org) The new debiandoc-sgml package 1.2.2 is capable of creating UTF-8 output. (I did this anyway ....) I believe plain text and HTML generation should be fine and most PS and PDF should work too. In order to make debiandoc-sgml based documentation to be UTF-8 encoded, following actions are needed. * change the source text encoding to UTF-8 * change build script to specify UTF-8 locale as argument of -l option. e.g. "-l en_US.UTF-8" Some limited locales (mostly CJK.UTF-8) currently suffer problem building PS and PDF. I am still requesting help. Especially, CJK tex expert. (See below for exact list) All I need to know is the startup LaTeX code for each locale. So anyone is willing to work on this, please let me know. Osamu PS: Due to some CVS problem on alioth, I can not add file. So Debian tar ball is the only source you can get. I am thinking this to move to git repository somewhere ... ######################################################### ### Known problems for building source with this tool ### ######################################################### FAIL: latexpdf gl_ES.ISO8859-1 FAIL: latexps gl_ES.ISO8859-1 FAIL: latexpdf gl_ES.ISO8859-15 FAIL: latexps gl_ES.ISO8859-15 FAIL: latexpdf gl_ES.UTF-8 FAIL: latexps gl_ES.UTF-8 FAIL: latexpdf ja_JP.UTF-8 FAIL: latexps ja_JP.UTF-8 FAIL: latexpdf ko_KR.UTF-8 FAIL: latexps ko_KR.UTF-8 FAIL: latexpdf sk_SK.ISO8859-2 FAIL: latexpdf sk_SK.UTF-8 FAIL: latexpdf zh_CN.UTF-8 FAIL: latexps zh_CN.UTF-8 FAIL: latexpdf zh_TW.UTF-8 FAIL: latexps zh_TW.UTF-8
