An alternative to apm power_off=1 in /etc/modules would be rd@topsi:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/apm # power off at shutdown needs now an explicit option options apm power_off=1 rd@topsi:~$ This way also a manually loaded apm module would see that option.
