Hi,
I think init(8) and policy takes care most. I also mention some in
debian-reference.
I know people repeatedly complained on the ML like "why Debian init does
not work like RH one?" If this is the issue you want to be addressed, I
do not think many doc on DDP does not address it. If we do this, it
will become inter-OS init script style comparison. I may think it but
so far I do not think that is important for debian-reference.
If we do this init script comparison, why not add rc script like ones
used un slackware or BSD which used to be popular than RH. Change from
BSD to systemV style was bigger change for me. Oh, we also have file-rc
package. So leaving specific init implimentation issues to each package
is my answer.
Anyway I think debian init itself is well documented. What is not
documented is comparison and transition guide from other OS init styles.
