Bug#265587: doc-debian: Need to add Etch
Package: doc-debian
Version: 3.0.2
Severity: normal
Since new testing will be Etch, we may want to add it to FAQ.
| 5.3.1 Which other codenames have been used in the past?
|
| Other codenames that have been already used are: buzz for release 1.1,
| rex for release 1.2, bo for releases 1.3.x, hamm for release 2.0,
| slink for release 2.1 and potato for release 2.2.
Can I add woody and sarge here as I did for Debian Reference?
Do we need "other" in the references to codenames? I think we should
drop it.
| 5.3.2 Where do these codenames come from?
|
| So far they have been characters taken from the movie "Toy Story" by
| Pixar.
| * buzz (Buzz Lightyear) was the spaceman,
|
| * rex was the tyrannosaurus,
|
| * bo (Bo Peep) was the girl who took care of the sheep,
|
| * hamm was the piggy bank,
|
| * slink (Slinky Dog) was the toy dog,
|
| * potato was, of course, Mr. Potato,
|
| * woody was the cowboy.
|
| * sarge was the sergeant of the Green Plastic Army Men.
If I take line from the commented section:
* etch (Etch-a-Sketch) was the blackboard.
But I think this may be clearer:
* etch (Etch-a-Sketch) was the toy blackboard.
Also add sid here:
* sid was a boy next door who destroyed toys.
I will promise to keep code names lower case to be consistent within
FAQ.
Can I update DDP CVS?
By the way, do you mhave time to upload these, joy?
Although my time is tight, I may upload this too if you request.
I think #222102, #252794, and #212194 can be fixed if I package it.
Also close #220291 after checking it is dealt with...
