Nice to hear V2 is planned.

Also debiandoc2latex needs to be fixed like debiandoc2pdf and
debiandoc2ps.  (It may have been done in your local CVS)

Now that latex2rtf exists in Debian (I never used it), we can even make
evil *.DOC files :-)

I think it shall be like HTML <IMG> TAG.  If <IMG ID="..." ALT="...">
display ALT.  If without ALT, just say "*** See ... ***" just like
links/lynx does for HTML page.

Basically wrapper short script for EMACS illiterate to normalize SGML:)

I see. In order to maintain logic behind SGML, maybe adding "&nbsp;<BR>"
may be an option but it might have been dropped by browser. 

I may like list to be tightly packed but that is my thing...

Yes.  

Limited feature actually force good consistency of document style.
Also, least requirement of closing-TAG is nice if you are converting
text file memo, mailing list post to SGML.
