as a precaution for debian users it would be the right thing to update and make a few tweaks, bugs fixes, etc to stay up to date with the current release. debian should have regularly updates asap when available. please make readerly updates or small changes for the software.
We already issue "point releases" for our stable releases with the sorts of things that you describe. See e.g. https://www.debian.org/News/2025/20250906 for the most recent one.
(Exactly how serious bugs have to be to be fixed in a stable release is always a judgement call, and that's up to the combination of the package maintainers and the stable release managers.)
