Inquiry about armel support for Debian upgrades post-Trixie

Dear Debian Team,

I hope you're doing well.

We came across this note stating that Debian Trixie will be the last release to support the armel architecture. As we're planning ahead, we wanted to confirm whether armel will still be supported for upgrades to Forky and beyond or if it will be officially dropped, as we weren’t sure that the note applies to fresh installations or even upgrades from one release to another.

Our systems in the field run on an armv5 chip (armel architecture) which we can’t replace with newer boards with a different architecture.

Could you please clarify whether armel will be supported during future upgrades from Trixie to Forky (and even Duke)?

Thank you for your time and support.

Best regards,
Serge Haddad
