Re: Maintaining webext-browserpass package

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the reply.

Why? I'm using the current Debian package with the current Chromium
without any issue.

I think the webext-browserpass Debian package contains both the Browserpass - browser extension and the native messaging host. While the native messaging host still works, I found the current browser extension version incompatible with Chromium version 138.0.7204.49 installed from the Debian stable repo. I had to install the latest extension from Chrome marketplace to make it work.

Moreover, the current version of the webext-browserpass package in Debian repo is 3.7.2-1 in both stable and unstable while the latest released version from the upstream is 3.10.2 (source: https://github.com/browserpass/browserpass-extension/releases). The current repo version 3.7.2 was apparently released in 2021. Please let me know if I am missing something.

It's still actively maintained. The latest version is already in git
and will be uploaded to unstable once the release is out of the door.

I am glad to hear that and will wait for the latest version to be available. Do you think there's any chance to also make the latest version available in the backports?

Best,
Subhadip Ghosh
