Yes, I feel like there are a majority of Debian Developers who are in favor of making the change that I propose, partially based on the number of people who have commented only once in the conversation with a short message in favor of the change. I also see a small number of Debian Developers who are strongly opposed to the change.
I think those who are against the change feel much more strongly about their position than those who are for the change, but my sense is that if it goes to a GR vote the change will pass.
