This package is a dependency of golang-github-canonical-candid (ITP #998752), which is needed for packaging LXD (ITP #768073). From a quick inspection of the Candid source, it looks like a non-trivial amount of work to patch out Candid's use of this library, so I'm going to package it, even though it's Ubuntu specific. This package will be team-maintained within the Debian Go Packaging Team.
