Hi,apparently cron added a MAILFROM envvar. The same patch added a whitelist of the range of permitted characters..
We're a bit unhappy about that because it breaks existing installations: some ticketing / workflow systems use the destination address to set variables like severity or ticket category.
Also this is not mentioned in the `debian/cron.NEWS` file. It's possibly a bit late to get this fixed before the release, but … -- -- Matthias Urlichs
