That would be impossible to guarantee, because it's affected by the
options you pass to dpkg-source -b (most likely via dpkg-buildpackage
or debuild, for example DEBUILD_DPKG_BUILDPACKAGE_OPTS in ~/.devscripts).

Are you using `debuild -i` or similar? That ignores .gitignore,
.gitattributes and so on, not just .git/, which is not always desired.
