Hi,
As Nessus scan report, they are suggested to upgrade the kernel/linux
version with *linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64_3.**16.56-1* but this version is
not available for upgrading on your Debian portal.
Can you please help us to upgrade the linux version *3.16.0-4-amd64_3.*
*16.56-1* on debian 8.7?

Latif, this is really a question for the Debian User mailing list. Reply-To: set.

The latest version of linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64 for jessie is 3.16.43-2+deb8u5:
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/kernel/linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64

There is no linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64 3.16.56-1 in the main repositories or jessie-backports.

If you want 3.16.56-1+deb8u1, you can install linux-image-3.16.0-6-amd64 (note the "-6" not "-4" in the package name):
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/linux-image-3.16.0-6-amd64

linux-image-3.16.0-6-amd64 3.16.56-1+deb8u1 is the default linux-image-amd64 for jessie (<https://packages.debian.org/jessie/linux-image-amd64> depends on <https://packages.debian.org/jessie/linux-image-3.16.0-6-amd64>). Debian 8.7 is quite old. You can upgrade to 8.11 (and later) jessie packages with:

apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade

This will upgrade all packages on your system. If you have installed linux-image-amd64, this should automatically install linux-image-3.16.0-6-amd64 3.16.56-1+deb8u1.

Kind regards,
