+1, as the young people say nowadays. I really want to see Grunt in Debian as I want to see Diaspora*, Pump.io, Gitlab etc. and I'm thankful that I don't have to do the dirty work :~) Still, the home directory hack is not acceptable. Don't forget that some downstream distributions such as Ubuntu fetch directly from unstable. Just in the unlikely case that upstream were unwilling to fix it, maybe somebody else can come up with working patch you can use?
