Description : A C library for implementing Bitcoin applications

Picocoin is a C library that allows programmers to implement Bitcoin related
functionality in not only C programs, but also in programs written in the many
languages that support linking to C libraries. While there are other Bitcoin libraries
out there, none are as flexible and easy to use as a C library.

Bitcoin is a peer to peer digital currency that is used around the world. Demand
for Bitcoin software has increased dramatically in the last 5 years. As such, it
is important for users of Debian to be able to interact with the Bitcoin peer to
peer network.

Picocoin allows programmers on Debian to not only write financial applications, but
also security applications such as Public Key Infrastructure and create simple, immutable
databases. The latter applications are refered to as Blockchain applications.
