Yes I think the package would fit fine into Debian Science.
Unfortunately, another thing came into the way and I don't have
enough time to bring this into Debian yet.
Not to block this now, I've changed the ITP to RFP [1].
Tiago would maintain it, maybe somebody wants to sponsor ...
