You should just not accept rebase, *ever*.

This is the standard config of all Evolvis (FusionForge inhouse variant)
git repositories created, and only one developer team insists on getting
both changed to “false” (I let them send me a pgp-signed eMail that they
require me to allow them to delete history and corrupt data before doing
the change).
