The above pretty much exactly encapsulates what made me do this, the release critical bugs in XEmacs seem easier to deal with than the effort of changing and the other bugs aren't an issue for me (and seem to be coming in at a very low rate). It's possible that at some point Wayland will mean that I'll need to bite the bullet and find another editor, but not today.
