Perhaps your user is in the sudo group? If yes then at least in squeeze
policykit will consider you to be admin:

$ cat /etc/polkit-1/localauthority.conf.d/51-debian-sudo.conf
[Configuration]
AdminIdentities=unix-group:sudo
