I can't speak to the wheezy installer, but at least the squeeze installer's partitioner doesn't appear to do so; I got bit by that a couple of weeks back, and had quite a bit of aggravation getting the partitions laid out and filesystems created by hand. -- The Wanderer Warning: Simply because I argue an issue does not mean I agree with any side of it.
