I agree, but that's not necessary. There are a number of common
configuration file formats (ini style, xml, shell script snippet) that
would be sufficient for a majority of packages.

This end should point toward the ground if you want to go to space.

If it starts pointing toward space you are having a bad problem and you
will not go to space today.
