Actually both suckless-tools with st and stterm existed together and
still exists together but as Dmitry says stterm doesn't overwrite st
files shipped by suckless-tools, it actually renames st files to
stterm. And new version of suckless-tools in experimental (39) does no
longer have st (will be uploaded soon to unstable).

I already replied to this ITP as I'm the maintainer of suckless-tools
but didn't Cc debian-devel but since the thread is still continuing here
is clarification from my side on the bug report [1]
