Because packages not in Debian will be pulled in by packages in main
automatically.  And also because, for better or for worse, handling
non-initial alternate dependencies is still very much of a crapshoot in
Debian.  Thus the first alternative will be the most likely to be
installed in a variety of situations, and that should be something in
main if possible.  It avoids breakage in the situation where non-free
and contrib are *not* in use, and it prioritizes the closure of main
over the use of non-free software.
