Package: general Severity: important I cannot chage manually IP address in /etc/network/interfaces, after bring interface down with ifconfig eth0 down I manually edit above maentioned file with: allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet static address xxx.xxx.xx.xx and so on and after bringing up command on eth0 host wont connent any more or still hanging on dhcp. Ifconfig eth0 still showing DHCP address, it will change only after restarting host. Also '/etc/init.d/networking restart' doesnt work, after that host just dont want connect any more. best wishes ivan -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.6 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
