Description : Libraries for accessing Sony HiMD MiniDisc Walkman (not to be confused with NetMD and libnetmd)

libhimd is part of our project linux-minidisc which is intented to bring full minidisc support to Linux without
any DRM-restrictions like the original Windows software. The library provides functionality to both upload and
download audio tracks from HiMD devices with a USB-connector.

Work is still in-progress, up for now upload (transfer from the Walkman to the PC) of MP3s and unencrypted PCM-tracks
is possible. Near future will bring upload of unencrypted ATRAC3 tracks and download of MP3s to the Walkman.

Support for encrypted tracks requires much more investigation has already made alot of progress in reverse engineering
of the original software. We expect full HiMD support in one year from now.

PS: We are also working together with the original authors of libnetmd to revive that project again, add actual download-
functionality and also bring the package back to Debian.

Regards,

Adrian
