Perhaps this?
* Install the binaries in /usr/lib/root.
* Provide wrappers such as the following in /usr/bin:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/root"${LD_LIBRARY_PATH:+:}$LD_LIBRARY_PATH}"
exec /usr/lib/root/"$(basename "$0")" "$@"
