Package: unknown Version: etchI have installed debian on two different machines and neither will load web pages after the install. I have no firewall or proxy and connect via DSL to my ISP (xmission.com), i.e. direct connection to the internet.I am successfully running: FreeBSD, Plan9, Windoz, OS-X and all work and load web pages perfectly after installation.I installed debian on an i386 and a powerpc and neither will load web pages. I tried all the browsers installed with the "desktop" option from the installed process, on both. The initial install was over the same network and worked flawlessly. Why don't web pages load after the install? The error message is ALWAYS. the connection timed out, the server is either down or busy or your network is broken. with the debian and freebsd boxes side by side with the same browsers, the freebsd box loads ok and debian times out.what gives regards, the disappointed lmc@xmission.comps: i will keep these boxes loaded with debian for two weeks in case anyone out there wishes to fix the broken installaion and then put on some system that works.

Hi, closing as the two weeks are long due ;-/ and because there is no useful information in the bugreport to debug and fix the problem. Please reopen/file a new bug in case you still have these problems. regards, HolgerAttachment: pgpgHgyurwynB.pgp
