Just 7 bugs later (is the Debian bug a precise measure of time ? :-)
Julien BLACHE submitted Bug#402280: ITP: mbpeventd -- Apple MacBook Pro
hotkeys event handler

mbpeventd also controls LCD backlight duplicating macbook-backlight.
mbpeventd does also much more.

Maybe packaging macbook-backlight is not needed then?

I propose you close your ITP and work with Julien and other MacBook
owners to improve Debian support on these machines.
