Bug#365856: ITP: python-visionegg -- Python library for 2D/3D visual stimulus generation

Package: wnpp
Owner: Michael Hanke <michael.hanke@gmail.com>
Severity: wishlist

*** Please type your report below this line ***

* Package name    : python-visionegg
  Version         : 1.0
  Upstream Author : Andrew D. Straw <astraw@users.sourceforge.net>
* URL             : http://www.visionegg.org
* License         : LGPL
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Python library for 2D/3D visual stimulus generation

 The Vision Egg is a programming library that uses standard, inexpensive
 computer graphics cards to produce visual stimuli for vision research
 experiments.

This is my first python package. I tried to follow the Debian Python
Policy, but I would very much appreciate comments on the packaging.
The package is available from mentors.d.n

Please note that the ITP is still missing in debian/changelog.

Anyway, linitan is happy (and quiet) and the package builds with
pbuilder as expected.

There is at least one open issue. I could not build the docs in HTML
format, because I would need to build-depend on latex2html (which is in
non-free). I read about this issue, but could not find an alternative.
Could anyone please point me to some solution.

In the future this package will be maintained by the Debian Experimental
Psychology project on alioth.

Cheers,

Michael
