Hello People,

It was really a good time going through the logs of the Debian DPL Debate.
I was quite happy that the organizers brought up the issue of
"Under-represented Groups In Debian".

I've been thinking of contributing to Debian for a long time since I started
using it. The problem is that I've not been able to find a good comprehensive
documentation on "Contributing to Debian" yet.

Things which are complete and too much to scare me. Eg. Debian New Maintainer
Guidelines.

I do know that there are other ways also, besides being a DD, to contribute to
Debian. But there isn't a formal written way.

There, maybe, should be an official responsibility for DD's to work closely
with people who are willing to contribute to Debian.

As for example, it's been now around 7 years for me now using Linux and I do
have a fair amount of knowledge now. It would be great if DD's here could
harness the skills in "wannabe contributors" like us and prepare us help this
marvelous community. In particular to me, I'm willing to contribute to Debian
as maybe a DD, Package Maintainer, SysAdmin or any other work you people find
as an undiscovered skill in me.

Look forward for guidelines from all of you.

Note: Please CC me. I'm not on the list now.

Regards,

Ritesh
