I gather he's in the "ship Debian with non-free firmware and 
documentation" camp and fix it later.  Of course the destination could 
be 100% ideologically pure distro, in which case the opposite is true, 
however I gathered from his overall tone and the fact that non-Free 
software is sort of around Debian and RMS doesn't really like Debian 
very much anyway (he likes that little distro the little country near 
Spain puts out).

For my own personal tastes, I'd rather see an ideological purer distro 
that ships later, but this is becaue I run Sid.  I bet people who need 
Stable want it Now.
