Was it possible before? Free drivers don't support all the
functionality of the R100 chip, the functionality that makes that chip
interesting in the first place, and don't even bother thinking about
the R200 and beyond. Investing on a _current_ R300 is wishful
thinking. Even the non-free drivers from ATI erm... suck.
