Put a more useful way: these flamewars are neither new nor larger or
more significant than Debian has seen in the past.  While that doesn't
excuse them by any means, I think that citing recent flamewars as
evidence that Debian is breaking down is not really accurate.  In fact,
many of the recent discussions have remained remarkably civil, with
little name-calling -- I would hesitate to even call them flamewars.
