Bug#227224: lyx: Burdened with unnecessary dependencies

I'm writing to mailing list and asking for any suggestions.

The lyx metapackage depends on too many packages (for the bug 
submitter), i.e. rcs. In this example the rcs package is required for 
versioning feature.

How to tweak the dependencies so I could install a complete environment?
Should I prepare the task-lyx metapackage with strong depenencies and 
lyx metapackage which recommends additional packages (weak dependencies)?
