This is good, Steve. I think combining this with what you had
originally:

"Quantum GIS (QGIS) is designed to be a Geographic Information System
(GIS) built for Linux/Unix. QGIS will offer support for vector, raster
(still to do), and database formats.

Features:

   1. Support for spatially enabled PostGIS tables
   2. Support for shapefiles
   3. Identify features
   4. Display attribute table
   5. Select features (shapefiles only)"

will make for a good package description.
