Here is an example of the spec's for cotton that is required:
Strict Middling grade 3 and better leaf, 1 1/8” staple, 3.5 to 4.9 micronaire, fiber strength 26 minimum with 29 or higher Middling grade, grade 4 and better leaf, 1 1/8”staple, 3.5 to 4.9 micronaire, fiber strength 26 minimum with 29 or higher Strict Low Middling grade 4 and better leaf, 1 1/8” staple, 3.5 to 4.9 micronaire, fiber strength of 26 minimum with avg of 29 or higher
