BTW: I was able to compile 2.4.20-xfs with gcc 3.3, only minor syntrax
changes are needed:

__u8 short bla: -> __u8 bla;
extern __inline__ ... -> __inline__
"bla
fasel" -> "bla" \
          "fasel"

it is running ok, so far.
