obligatory pre-depends mail
The readlink utility is now included in coreutils, and the debianutils
maintiner has agreed to make that the default readlink in debian. (The
coreutils version provides a superset of the functionality in the
debianutils version.) Consequently a future version of coreutils will
have a Replaces: debianutils < some version and a future debianutils
will pre-depend on a version of coreutils that provides readlink. This
pre-depends is to ensure that readlink is always present on a system
during upgrades since it is an essential utility. Per policy this mail
outlines the rationale for adding a pre-depends.
