This solution isn't as nice as just being able to pull the packages from testing or unstable, but it is sufficient for what I need. My thanks to everyone who directed me to this site, and of course my thanks to Mr. Bunk for the site itself. Now I just need to figure out how to adjust the package priority so that an "apt-get upgrade" doesn't grab everything from there.
