Yes, it's definitely better than nestra. It's got both savegame support
and sound, but it's not very fast at all. Hopefully it'll speed up
somewhat as the codebase gets older, but right now it's not too speedy.
Still, it's all in C as far as I can tell, so it should run
anywhere allegro does (although I don't have a non-i386 handy to confirm
that). The docs say that it's untested on big endian systems. It's also 
supposedly got joystick support although I haven't tried to get it 
working yet. I'm going to work on that and put instructions in the 
package for it.

And as a replacement for ines, it allows source distribution for all
non-commercial purposes (more free but still non-free) and it's being
actively maintained upstream, which doesn't seem to be the case for
ines, which is also i386 only (binary distribution).
