My turn to express my pet hate.
Its not a version number, its a version string... irrespective of what
policy says.
A number cant have words embeded in it in a non-mathematical manner.
Numbers use decimal points, the '.' in the version string isnt a decimal
point, its a seperator.
If it were a number then 0.1 would be bigger than 0.00000001
If we refered to it as a string rather than a number it would avoid a lot
of confusion.
