Well lame isn't included in the distribution because of patent problems
And the same patents (and other ones) cover ffmpeg, which can encode
(among other things) AC3, MPEG1 video, MPEG4, and MPEG 1 layer 2 audio.
So it looks like either way you're in trouble.
