That's why I closed the bug. It was filed a loooooooooong time ago.

No! Speaking as the man-db maintainer I have no intention of doing that.
The reported bug was fixed in man-db more than two releases ago, and can
be worked around in earlier versions by a simple change to the
configuration file. Let's move on rather than doing silly things to our
dependency tree.
