Why did the software make it into stable in the first place, then?
I take it that you plan to remove all *-beta and *-cvs packages
from stable and testing?
Normally if the quality of the package is so awful or it becomes
outdated so rapidly that it has to get updated in stable then yes I
would pull it from stable (I tend to view testing as closer to unstable
than stable, but who am I to talk?). If it's just a case of the software
becoming old and outdated over an overly long release cycle then that's
going to be something that affects large portions of Debian and we
really ought to just put out a release :) .
There are packages which are all about up to date data where this gets
harder but that doesn't really apply to a lot of the suggestions people
are making.
