Yes, I do similar copies every now and again, although I'm not using png stuff. Am I right in thinking that copying the new png libraries as well would solve the problem, since the new libs are backwards compatible? Anway, RH/SuSE users are already used to the chasing-your-tail game of installing new versions of libraries and their dependencies until it finally works :) Chris
