Automatic Graph Layout

I have a GTK+ program that produces nodes and edges
and I am looking for an automatic graph layout
library.

I think Graphviz has the capbility but don't know
how to interface and to display its output on a
GTK canvas.

Appreciate any suggestions/comments.
