Despite how ancient the ITP is, I have been updating the packages as new
releases come out [1].
I think Bastien Nocera <hadess@hadess.net> is willing to sponsor them so
rhythmbox [2] and monkey-sound can get in Debian too. I recently got a
few packaging script comments from hadess that I still need to look
over. After those fixes and a rebuild for new avifile libs I think they
are ready to go in. Any other comments would be appreciated.
