Well, depends what he means when he says he's going to bugger off, but I
have to (largely) agree with you.

If he means, "I can't rewrite buildd on m68k so it runs three times as
fast, every day, only every week" (more serious version: "no new
packages, not necessarily active on the lists, there, but not actively
involved in every discussion, but maintaining my old packages,
responding to bugs, etc"), then that's fine; I believe that as long as
you maintain your own packages and do a good job at that ("quality, not
quantity", anyone?), then that's actually better than making 40,000 shit
packages (which just overload m68k, anyway ;).

But, if he means, "I'm going on, like, a spritual trek, man, like, I'm
gonna find inner peace, duuuuude, this phattie's crackin' me up, let's
go to Nepal to be one with the universe duuuuude" (more serious version:
"going off somewhere for quite a while where you're unlikely to be able
to do Debian stuff"), then that is probably a bad thing.

Oh, god. Not another "long term goals of debian maintainership".

I'm too tired to make this into a flamewar ;) Plus, all my
pissed-off-ness currently lies with the fact that my schoolbag, complete
with graphing calculator, assignments due tomorrow and test revision due
tomorrow, as well as various other personal stuff, is floating somewhere
around Melbourne in the back of a taxi because of Dad ... grrr ...
