Currently you still have to build a little chroot environment to let
mysql run chroot'ed. Esp. /etc/passwd /etc/nsswitch.conf and /lib/libnss_compat
or so are required. 
Also be aware that MySQL shows strange behaviour when accessing databases:
it complains if they are not in the chroot but uses the onces outside the 
chroot. very strange. This is the reason I haven't chroot support in 
my Debian MySQL packages.
